Neri & Hu designs flagship showroom in Shanghai
Camper has opened a new showroom in Shanghai, created by Neri&Hu, current leaders in Chinese design.
The architects took inspiration from the city’s typical alleyways, called “non-tangs”, to develop a mixed space based on recycled wood, grey bricks and furniture designed specifically to complete the look. The result is a building within a building, which seeks to integrate the access street into a large welcoming space. The sensation of being in an exterior alleyway accentuates the skylight, where the shoes hang from.

The new Camper flagship store in Shanghai has already caught the attention of specialist publications the world over.
Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu met in London when working with the American architect Michael Graves, with whom they worked in Shanghai to build the Three On The Bund project (2002). Since 2004, they have had their own studio, a benchmark in China, with projects in Asia, Europe and the USA.
