Following the success of the Miró Sculptor exhibition, Camper and the Yorkshire Sculptor Park have organised a student competition together with London College of Fashion and Huddersfield University.

Camper is delighted to once again be working with the Joan Miró Family.  This time the creative Mallorcans and Catalan Artist’s legacy  have inspired more than 40 British Fashion students to design a unique pair of shoes! Students from both the London College of Fashion and Huddersfield University have participated and the final selection will be made on the 18th December 2012.

The entries have surpassed all expectations, not only resulting in one winner but as an added extra, Camper has had to develop a close second place as the standard was just so high.

The brief was that the shoes must reflect the brilliant Miró Sculpture Exhibition currently housed at the Yorkshire Sculpture park in Wakefield UK  (until 6th January 2013).  More than three thousands voted on Facebook for both our winners:

First prize goes to Antonia Sharkett from Huddersfield University. Antonia will have her shoes made by Camper to keep forever and will also enjoy two nights at Casa Camper Barcelona. Antonia explained how she was inspired by Miró’s  works colours: “I thought the vibrant, primary colours brought excitement to his work, and I have tried to bring this feel to my shoe designs”

We would like to give a special mention to the runner up,  Guillem Turro Casanovas from London College of Fashion who designed a great reinterpretation of the Camper Pelotas.

Keep an eye out on our Facebook page to see Antonia’s finished shoe once made.
